The Fischer Sports Transalp tour will be staged again for what is now the fourth time in March 2014! Eight people will take part again!
Fischer Transalp has already reached cult status in the scene. The ingredients of this adventure also speak for themselves: crossing the Alps on the snow from south to north in a small group is a memorable experience! In order to guarantee safety, however, you need precise planning and professional guides. And this is exactly what Fischer Transalp has to offer.
Another good reason is that on this tour you will get to rub shoulders with superstars from the world of outdoor sport: on this fourth tour, South Tyrolean extreme mountaineer Hans Kammerlander and Mount St. Elias star Axel Naglich will once again be joining the team.
High number of candidates every year.
Only the selected few get to enjoy what this exclusive tour has to offer: to ensure the safety of the group, there not only has to be a limit to the number of participants, everyone who takes part also has to have a high level of physical fitness, enough ski touring experience and a sound knowledge of topography.
This is why a casting procedure is used to make the selection. If you want to take part you have to convince us in two steps: first with your online application (application deadline was the 31st of December) and then in the casting in Obertauern in January, where the Fischer mountain pros will select the participants from a shortlist of 20 people.
Date: 15 to 23 March (incl. two spare days for bad weather)

The seven stages planned:

Day 1:    Cortina d'Ampezzo - Val de Fanes - Lavarella hut
Day 2: Lavarella hut - Pragser Wildsee - Kasern
Day 3: Kasern - Schüttelkopf or Tauernkogel – cross Tauern - Krimmler Tauernhaus
Day 4: Krimmler Tauernhaus - Hoher Gabler - Gasthaus Finkau

  Day 6: Elmau - Regalm - Maualm - Griesneralm
Day 7: Griesneralm - Striebsenjochhaus - Johann Berger Haus - Kaisertal - Kuftstein

The package includes:

    7 days' half board
6 overnight stays (some in mountain huts), transfer to the next stage's departure point, lift passes

We will hold a casting on 18 January 2014 in Obertauern (AUT) for the 20 candidates we put on the shortlist. The eight Transalp participants will be nominated there.
Hans Kammerlander: mountaineering legend from South Tyrol.
Axel Naglich: the extreme sportsman, star of Mount St. Elias and architect will be joining the team again as he did in 2011.
Stephan Skrobar: state certified skiing instructor and ski guide, member of the Fischer Freeski Team and Alpine Coach for the Styrian Skiing Instructor Association.
