They are the best in the world and they aim to climb even higher. And this year they were in Jasná in Slovakia to compete for the most coveted junior title: Junior World Champions. The world's top U20 skiers. And the Fischer athletes were among the best. They can also be proud of outstanding results, with the Austrian company celebrating two Junior World Champions and nine podium finishes in total!
For one skier in particular the opening of the prestigious races was certainly an unforgettable experience. Marco Schwarz clinched the World Championship title in a nail-biting race where every hundredth of a second counted. And as if that was not enough the young Austrian then went on to take bronze in the Super G.
It was likewise an Austrian who won the second title for the Fischer team. Elisabeth Kappaurer won in the Super Combined which, just like the men's Downhill before it, was also a very tight finish. She clinched the close but clear victory by a three hundredths of a second margin over the second-placed racer. Fellow Fischer racer Marina Wallner, who finished third, was only four hundredths behind. There was more to come, however, for the German. She went on to win another bronze medal with a strong performance in the Slalom.

The overall performance of the 18-year-old Norwegian Marcus Monsen also stood out. To begin with the all-rounder took first place in the Super Combined and then won the silver medal as well in the Giant Slalom at the end of the World Championships. There was another medal in the women's Giant Slalom, with Karoline Pichler (ITA) picking up silver. Switzerland's Daniel Yule rounded off Fischer's results perfectly with third place in the Slalom.

"The Junior WCH showed that we have nothing to worry about in terms of the next generation of skiers," says Fischer Racing Director Siegi Voglreiter, delighted about the achievements of his protégés. "For most of them it will no doubt be a rocky road to make it to the very top with the big names. Having said that, the basis we have is perfectly OK, we have very talented racers in the team!"
