Slovenian's Jurij Tepes and Robert Kranjec (SLO, both Fischer)
surprisingly celebrated victory in team event with their team mates in skiflying in Oberstdorf ahead of Austria and Norway.
Slovenians triumphate although Prevc fell
Surprisingly the winners in team competition at Heini-Klopfer-Skiflugschanze in Oberstdorf were the Slovenians. Although they had to compensate a fall of Peter Prevc who suffered a fracture of the clavicula and a circulatory collapse they were able to stay shortly ahead of the Austrians Thomas Morgenstern, Martin Koch, Andreas Kofler und Gregor Schlierenzauer (all AUT, Fischer). "The competition
today was not easy because of the difficult wind conditions. The track was
getting slower, but the organizers did a really good job. I am happy that my
team was able to handle those problems, and so we managed to perform on a high
level. Of course, our thoughts go out to Peter Prevc now and we are hoping the
best for him", said Tepes. Third went to Norway with Fischer athletes Rune Velta, Tom Hilde und Anders Bardal (all NOR, Fischer), 17 points back. The German team in line-up with Andreas Wank, Michael Neumayer, Richard Freitag and Severin Freund (all GER, Fischer) finished fourth. The final round was cancelled due to strong winds and snowfall.
