Racing: Kathrin Hitzer and Magdalena Neuner claim superior victory with the German team
Kathrin Hitzer (GER, Fischer) and Magdalena Neuner (GER, Fischer skis and boots) claimed a superior victory in todays Relay ahead of their home audience in Ruhpolding (GER).´
Kathrin Hitzer handed over to her teammates Henkel and Wilhelm in first position and put in a great performance on the tracks as well as at the shooting range. "I'm really happy that all four of us were finally able to show our qualities on the tracks as well as at the shooting", said the overjoyed 22-year old.
Magdalena Neuner started as anchor leg skier with a big advantage and a claimed superior victory for her team. "It was gorgeous today because I was able to ski my own race thanks to the big advantage" said the triple World Champion from last year about the first Relay victory this season.
Albina Akhatova (RUS, Fischer skis and poles) hit all of her ten targets and crossed the finishline 37.5 seconds behind the winners in second place for the Russian team of Medvetseva, Boulygina and Zaitseva.
The quartet from Sweden around Helena Jonsson (SWE, Fischer skis and boots) also put in a great performance and likewise made the podium by finishing in third place.
The pure Fischer team from China with Chunli Wang (Fischer), Xianying Liu (Fischer), Xue Dong (Fischer) and Chaoqing Song (Fischer) achieved fourth place ahead of the likewise pure Fischer Team from the Ukraine with Valj Semerenko (Fischer), Olena Pidrushna (Fischer skis and boots) and Lyudmyla Pysarenko (Fischer).
