Racing: Back to the roots - Manfred Moelgg joins Fischer again

After one year, Manfred Moelgg (ITA) has gone back to his roots and is now with the Fischer brand again. A brand that he was extremely successful with for six years: in 2007 he won the silver medal at the World Championships in Aare and he also took the Slalom World Cup discipline title in the 07l08 season.

The Italian put a lot of thought into his decision, which was also influenced by the fact that the ski company Rossignol gave their athletes the opportunity to terminate their contracts. Moelgg's decision finally fell in favour of ending his partnership with the French ski manufacturer. "They tried everything there, but we weren't able to find the right equipment set-up. And that's why I'll be competing with Fischer skis again in the upcoming Olympic season. My sights, of course, are firmly fixed on finding the right set-up and being able to celebrate major successes again in the future," said Moelgg during his trip to Fischer Sports in Ried.

For Fischer Racing Director Siegi Voglreiter this means a very welcome but rather unexpected addition to his World Cup team. "Our doors have always been open for Manfred. When he called it was clear to me that we had to make every effort to get him back on board with the Fischer family," says Voglreiter, delighted about the joint future with Moelgg.
