Which car do you currently drive?
Audi RS 6
Describe your character: good points
Honest, reliable, frank (often negatively, too)
bad points
Moody, stubborn
How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as ambitious and determined. If something doesn’t work the way I think it should my mood can change for the worse very quickly!
Your biggest successes in racing?
WSC winner in GS, Val d’Isère 2009
Overall winner in WC GS 2009/10
WC wins in GS in Aspen and Lienz
Your first World Cup race?
SG in Val d’Isère 2001
Which type of piste do you prefer?
Icy and steep
What is your favourite World Cup location?
Don’t really have one…
What are your goals for the 10/11 season?
To successfully defend my GS title.
In SL I want to break into the first starter group and achieve top 10 finishes.
In which disciplines do you compete in World Cup?
As in previous years. Mainly in the technical disciplines. Maybe I’ll compete in the odd SC. I still think my greatest potential is in GS.
How do you rate the past season 09/10?
Having won the globe in GS I am naturally highly satisfied with the past season. Unfortunately things didn’t go as well at the Olympics! They could have gone better in SL as well!
What are your long-term goals in racing?
To win at Sölden one day!
To achieve similar results in SL as I do in GS and to win an Olympic medal.
Which injuries have you had in your career?
No serious ones, luckily!
Skiing means to you …
Fun, dynamism, power
When you one day look back on your life you would like to be able to say?
I gave it everything! I have no regrets!
