After two out of four competitions the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix is dominated by the Fischer athletes. Headed by Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis and boots), Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) and Haavard Klemetsen (NOR, Fischer) the eleven best athletes in the overall ranking trust in Fischer.
A beaming Akito Watabe took the victory in the first competition in Oberwiesenthal (GER). The Japanese secured the first ever Summer Grand Prix victory in his career ahead of Miroslav Dvorak (CZE, Fischer) and local hero Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer skis and boots).

Haavard Klemetsen likewise won his first ever Summer Grand Prix claiming victory in Villach (AUT). After an exciting race the Norwegian had his nose in front at the finishing sprint. He won the race with just 0.7 seconds ahead of Bernhard Gruber who ensured second place in front of his home crowd. Just 0.8 seconds back Jan Schmid (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) finished in third place.

In the overall ranking now Akito Watabe is in the lead with 150 points ahead of Bernhard Gruber (130 points) and Haavard Klemetsen (103) followed by the further Fischer athletes Johannes Rydzek, Miroslav Dvorak (CZE), Björn Kircheisen (GER), Jan Schmid (NOR), Mario Seidl (AUT), Ilkka Herola (FIN), Alessandro Pittin (ITA) and Armin Bauer (ITA). The Summer Grand Prix continues with the final two competitions in Oberstdorf (GER) at August 30th and 31st.
