JOHANNES RYDZEK (GER) CLAIMS VICTORY IN THE PREMIERE IN NORDIC COMBINED

Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer skis and boots) is named the winner of thr first ever "Penalty Race" in the history of Nordic Combined. The German claimed victory with 29.4 seconds ahead of his brand mate Jan Schmid (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) in second place.
After the jump in difficult condition Johannes Raydzek was in second place behind Jan Schmid who was in the lead after a jump off 102 meters. At the end of the first lap the German catched him up and opened the gap. Thanks to his victory Johannes Rydzek is now in the lead of the overall ranking: "Now I am the leader in the Summer Grand Prix overall ranking and I will try to defend this leadership in the next competitions."

Jan Schmid crossed the finishline 29.4 seconds behind the winner and thus ensured second place. Alessandro Pittin (ITA, Fischer skis and boots) and Björn Kircheisen (GER, Fischer skis and boots) in fifth and sixth place, as well as Fabian Riessle (GER, Fischer) and Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) in eighth and ninth place likewise made the top ten.
