IN HAKUBA (JPN) THE FISCHER EAGLES ARE ON TOP AGAIN
In Hakuba (JPN) again three Fischer eagles made the podium: Tom Hilde (NOR, Fischer) claimed victory ahead of Piotr Zyla (POL, Fischer) and local hero Taku Takeuchi (JPN; Fischer).
Tom Hilde, who already dominated the training in Hakuba, took a clear victory with jumps off 132.5 and 125.5 meters and thus was able to celebrate his first ever Summer Grand Prix victory. The winner then was beside himself with joy: "It was a good, but definitely not an easy competition. But I will remember this day for the rest of my life because it was my first victory in the Summer Grand Prix.”
Piotr Zyla and Taku Takeuchi likewise celebrated a premiere because in second and third place the two of them made the podium in a Summer Grand Prix the first time in their careers, too.
In the Summer Grand Prix overall ranking Thomas Morgenstern (AUT, Fischer) is still in the lead with 580 points ahead of Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) with 389 points. Both athletes did not take the trip to Japan. Thanks to todays victory Tom Hilde improved up to third place in the overall ranking with 303 points.
