KAMIL STOCH (POL) CLAIMS VICTORY IN EINSIEDELN (SUI)
Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) claimed victory at the Summer Grand Prix competition in Einsiedeln (SUI) after just one round ahead of Thomas Morgenstern (AUT, Fischer) and Rune Velta (NOR, Fischer).
After many breaks during the first round because of strong and changing winds, the jury then decided to cancel the final round. So Kamil Stoch claimed victory in Einsiedeln (SUI) after just one jump off 118 meters and was contented: "I’m very happy about my victory today, especially because I worked very hard and fought for that since the beginning of the summer."
With this victory the Pole stopped the winning streak of Thomas Morgenstern, who had to be satisfied in second place today. The second-placed fair: "It’s never perfect if a competition is decided after only one round. But when the first round already took two hours it’s probably a good decision to cancel. It was a challenge to stay focused for so long and that’s why I’m happy about the second place.”
Rune Velta completed the Fischer trio on the podium in third place and thus was able to celebrate his first podium ever in the Summer Grand Prix: "Of course you can always speculate if the wind helped or not. For sure I did not have bad conditions, but I think I also jumped well. So I am very happy."
