Johannes Rydzek (GER)
Akito Watabe (JPN)

Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer skis and boots) missed the victory in today's nordic combined event at normal hill in Schonach shortly. He was beaten in the final sprint by Jason Lamy Chappuis (FRA), Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis and boots) came in third.
Exciting final sprint
Today's competition round was cancelled due to changing and strong gusts of wind, Friday's provisional competition round was used for today's event. The gaps were very small so Håvard Klemetsen (NOR, Fischer) wasn't able to stay in the lead for a long time. First the duo Akito Watabe and Eric Frenzel took the lead, after six kilometres a large group was together. The final decision was made just in the final sprint where Jason Lamy Chappuis edged out Johannes Rydzek and Akito Watabe. Magnus Krog (NOR, Fischer) came in fifth ahead of Alessandro Pittin (ITA, Fischer skis and boots) and Björn Kircheisen (GER, Fischer skis and boots). Both benefitted of the use of PCR where both showed their best jumps since a long time. Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer skis and boots) had to be satisfied with his eighth spot, Jan Schmid (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles ) finished tenth.
