NORWEGIAN NORDIC COMBINED SUCCEED IN FIRST TEAM EVENT
The Norwegian Nordic Combined team consisting of Haavard Klemetsen (NOR, Fischer), Magnus Krog (NOR, Fischer), Mikko Kokslien (NOR, Fischer skis and boots) and Jörgen Graabak (NOR, Fischer) celebrated victory in team event at World Cup opener in Kuusamo ahead of Germany and Japan.
No danger for Norway
With a 28 seconds advantage after skijumping against second-placed Japanese Taihei Kato, Yoshito Watabe, Hideaki Nagai and Akito Watabe (all JPN, Fischer skis and boots) team Norway started into their 4x5k cross-country race and their victory wasn't really in danger. Björn Kircheisen (GER, Fischer skis and boots) showed a great performance in skiing and closed their 48 seconds gap to Norway until the first exchange while Kato changed 16 seconds behind in third position. Shortly before the second exchange Manuel Faisst (GER, Fischer skis and boots) wasn't able to follow Magnus Krog's attack. Johannes Rydzek and Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer skis and boots) lost a few more seconds and nobody was able to take Norway's win. Third went to Japan, two minutes behind, followed by Sebastien Lacroix (FRA), Jason Lamy Chappuis (FRA), Francois Braud and Maxime Laheurte (both FRA, Fischer skis and boots) from France, 2:32 minutes back.
