MORGENSTERN ON FLYING VISIT WITH THE HELICOPTER AT FISCHER
In generell it is nothing outstanding that the big names of sports visit Fischer Sports. However the visit of Thomas Morgenstern (AUT) was something very special: who else would choose the helicopter for a stopover at his ski company?
The choice of this unusual means of transport had a reason. Thomas Morgenstern, who already has the private flying license for helicopter, actually is on the way to become professional helicopter pilot. The three-times Olympic Champion and eight-times World Champion took today’s flying lesson as a cause for visiting his ski company.
Sitting behind the pilot stick himself, he flew with an accompanying pilot one hour from Graz to Ried. “The flight was quite turbulent and we sometimes had to fight against heavy headwinds,” told Thomas Morgenstern. But as the ski jumping silver medallist from Sochi (RUS) is used to turbulences in the air he souvereignly managed the zig-zag flight to his final destination where he met the team who is responsible for the production of his jumping skis. Of course there he had to sign some skis before his flight back.
The staff was very pleased about the visit of the likeable high-flyer and agreed: “Finally not every day a world class ski jumper comes for a flying visit in our ski production, landing with his helicopter in front of the company. That was something outstanding!”
