Almost too early celebration
(Almost) rejoiced too soon! Emil Hegle Svendsen left it late at the end of the race. After four clean shootings thr Norwegian showed an exciting fight on their last rotation against double Olympic Champion Martin Fourcade who is having a cold. The Frenchman dropped back 40 seconds to spot 23 with one miss after the first shooting but he never gave up fighting and shortened the gap metre by metre. In the final sprint he seemed to admit defeat but then he attack in Svendsen's slipstrean and came out of it just three metres before crossing the line while the Norwegian already celebrated. The photo finish decided shortly in favour of Svendsen. Czech Ondrej Moravec could celebrate another medal after hitting all targets as well as Svendsen. The 29-year-old succeeded already in pursuit with winning silver and secured bronce today after he wasn't able to keep the contact to his opponents during the last rotation. Jakov Fak (SLO) showed his best performance in Sochi with finishing fourth despite two misses.
