Anastasiya Kuzmina (SVK) is the old and new Olympic Champion in biathlon sprint. The born-Russian dominated in front of her home crowd and sent Olga Vilukhina (RUS) and Vita Semerenko (UKR) to the following spot.
Kuzmina captures anew sprint gold
As 2010 in Vancouver Anastasiya Kuzmina celebrated another Olympic title in sprint race in Sochi. With an absolutely clear shooting the fourth-best ski-time was enough for the born-Russian who is participating for Slovakia since late 2008 to capture anew Olympic title with a round about 20 seconds advantage. Olga Vilukhina and Vita Semerenko shot all targets as well and feted silver and bronce. The 28-year-old South-Tyrolean Karin Oberhofer (ITA) realized her carreer's best in finishing fourth after hitting all targets followed by Anterselva winner Anaïs Bescond (FRA) who missed one target. Dorothea Wierer (ITA) was another South-Tyrolean finishing within top six. Seventh went to Polish Weronika Nowakowska (POL) ahead of youngster Gasparin sister Elisa (SUI). Co-favourites for medals Darya Domracheva (BLR) and Tora Berger (NOR) only came in ninth and tenth spot.
