Marit Bjørgen (NOR) totally dominated classic 10k World Cup race in Dobbiaco. With an outstanding performance and challenging waxing conditions she won clearly ahead of Therese Johaug (NOR) and Charlotte Kalla (SWE). In men's race Dario Cologna (SUI) was shortly beaten by Alexander Legkov (RUS), Marcus Hellner (SWE) finished third.
Marit Bjørgen absolutely unbeatable
Top favourite for the gold medal in 10k classic race at the Olympics on Fefruary 13th clearly is Marit Bjørgen. The Norwegian dominated the last test race before the Olympics from start to finish and won 36 seconds ahead of her fellow Therese Johaug. Charlotte Kalla made a podium, six seconds behind Johaug, after a long break without competitions - at least without international comparisons. As well Heidi Weng (NOR) crossed the line a bit faster than Polish Justyna Kowalczyk (POL) who announced problems with her foot via Facebook. Kerttu Niskanen (FIN) came in sixth followed by Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (NOR), both with less than one minute disadvantage against the winner. Kristin Størmer Steira (NOR) finished eighth ahead of Aino Kaisa Saarinen (FIN) and Steffi Böhler (GER).

Great season's debut by Cologna
That sucks! Dario Cologna missed just 2.7 seconds in his first season's World Cup race. The Swiss suffered from a ligament rupture in his season preparation and showed an excellent performance in 15k classic race in Dobbiaco. Only Alexander Legkov was a little bit faster than the Swiss which means his first season's success for the 30-year-old Russian. Marcus Hellner was ranked third and already 17.6 seconds behind the winner. Dmitry Japarov (RSU) finished fourth followed by Alex Harvey (CAN). A large disadvantage had sixth-placed Petter Northug (NOR) who just stayed shortly ahead of Swedish Lars Nelson (SWE). Newly minted junior World Champion in yesterday's skiathlon Iivo Niskanen (FIN) finished brilliant eighth followed by Daniel Richardsson (SWE) and Martin Johnsrud Sundby (NOR).
