#ROADTOSOCHI: DARIO COLOGNA (SUI) IN INTERVIEW
After his bad ankle injury in November Dario Cologna (SUI) had his comeback last weekend at the Continental Cup in Chamonix (SUI) – with great success. At the Skiathlon on Sunday the three-times Overall World Cup winner even made the podium. He already won one Olympic gold medal over 15 kilometers in free technique in Vancouver (CAN) 2010. How does it look like this year?
Fischer: What is your personal Olympic dream? Dario Cologna: After my ankle injury I definitely focus on a complete recovery until the Olympic Games. I dream about to be at the start in Sochi in top shape and to win a medal.
Fischer: What are your plans from until your first Olympic event?
Dario Cologna: I had my comeback last weekend at the Continental Cup in Chamonix. That worked really well. This upcoming weekend I will be back to the World Cup in Poland and then I will compete at the World Cup in Toblach. In addition I will train at home in Davos.
Fischer: What in your opinion are the advantages and the disadvantages of the Olympic tracks – how are they for you?
Dario Cologna: I love the tracks in Sochi. For sure the long uphill before the finish is very special. Thanks to the victory last year I earned a lot of self confidence and I am convinced that the tracks suit me very well.
