Gabriela Soukalova (CZE, Fischer skis and boots) secured with today's success in individual event in Ruhpolding already the small crystal globe for individual World Cup ranking. She celebrated victory followed by Darya Domracheva (BLR, Fischer skis and boots) and Veronika Vitkova (CZE, Fischer skis and boots).
Two Czechs made a podium
With Gabriela Soukalova and her fellow Veronika Vitkova even two Czech biathletes were able to celebrate a podium result in individual in Ruhpolding. After her success in season's opening compatition in Östersund Soukalova won today's race with just one penalty which means her triumph in individual World Cup ranking after two out of two competitions. "I was a bit afraid before the race when I saw the icy track in the corners. But in the race everything went well for me", Gabi Soukalova stated. Second went to Darya Domracheva who wasn't able to keep her nerve's in her last standing stage on her way to victory with missing two targets. But due to her fastest skking time the Belarussian was able to leave Veronika Vitkova four seconds behind after just one penalty for the Czech. Tora Berger (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) doesn's seem to be that good in skiing - but thanks to just one miss the Norwegian finished fifth ahead of Juliya Dzhyma (UKR, Fischer skis and boots). Anew Nadezhda Skardino (BLR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) showed a great clear shooting performance and came in seventh ahead of Valj Semerenko (UKR, Fischer). Half-French Laure Soulie (AND, Fischer skis and boots) realized her by far best World Cup result in finishing ninth followed by Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis and boots).
