SCHLIERENZAUER AND FREUND MAKE A PODIUM AT FOUR-HILLS-TOURNAMENT IN OBERSTDORF

Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT, Fischer) realized a podium finish at first event of Four-Hills-Tournament in Oberstdorf. Third went to Severin Freund (GER, Fischer).

The first event of Four-Hills-Tournament was influenced by strong winds. However it was a thrilling competition on extremely high level but the conditions were very unsettled and the winds changed from back- to tailwind and reverse. Nevertheless the Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer was able to show great jumps with 134,5 and 138,5 metres. 6.2 points behind him Severin Freund made a podium, too. He finished third. The Bavarian jumped 138,5 and 135,5 metres reached the first German Four-Hills-Tournament podium for four years. Dmitry Vassiliev (RUS, Fischer) finished fourth ahead of Tom Hilde (NOR, Fischer) and Simon Ammann (SUI, Fischer). Eighth to tenth went to Andreas Kofler (AUT, Fischer), Michael Neumayer (GER, Fischer) and Rune Velta (NOR, Fischer) who lost his duel in the final round and got ahead as a lucky loser.
