KAMIL STOCH CELEBRATES HIS SIXTH WORLD CUP WIN EVER IN KUOPIO
Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) secured his first season's win at skijumping World Cup in Kuopio except his World Championship title. The Polish won ahead of Daiki Ito (JPN, Fischer) and Severin Freund (GER, Fischer).
Basis in first round
With a perfect first jump shortly before hill record Kamil Stoch made the basis for his success. After his 135 metres Stoch was already eight points ahead in a windy competition and he was able to defend this advantage. With good 132 metres in the final round Daiki Ito was able to increase from spot six to two which means his first podium this winter. Third went to Severin Freund followed by Anders Bardal (NOR, Fischer) and the best Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT, Fischer) who secured Overall World Cup title ahead of time. His team mate Stefan Kraft (AUT, Fischer) was ranked sixth ahead of Michael Neumayer (GER, Fischer) and Jurij Tepes (SLO, Fischer). Tom Hilde (NOR, Fischer) and Jan Matura (CZE, Fischer) finished ninth and tenth.
