Evgeny Ustyugov (RUS, Fischer skis and boots) and Henrik L'Abee-Lund (NOR, Fischer skis and boots) made a podium in sprint race at biathlon World Cup in Sochi. Magdalena Gwizdon (POL, Fischer) surprisingly beat the whole field of biathletes in sprint race in Sochi. Second went to Anastasiya Kuzmina (SVK, Fischer) followed by Tora Berger (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles).
Sprint podium for Ustyugov and L'Abee-Lund
Evgeny Ustyugov and Henrik L'Abee-Lund were able to finish on podium in sprint race in Sochi behind Martin Fourcade (FRA). The Russian who skipped individual race even missed one target while the Norwegian shot clean in both shootings. Dominik Windisch (ITA, Fischer skis and boots) finished fifth without a miss and made his best World Cup result ever, Ondrej Moravec (CZE, Fischer) came in seventh after one penalty. Tarjei Boe (NOR, Fischer) finished eighth, tenth went to Simon Fourcade (FRA, Fischer skis and boots).

Polish surprises in Sochi
Magdalena Gwizdon obviously has learned shooting: After the Polish increased a lot in skiing this winter with a bad shooting rate of just 75% Gwizdon hit all ten targets in today's sprint race. Thereby she succeeded for the second time after her first triumph in Östersund in December 2006. The 33-year-old was ten seconds ahead of Anastasiya Kuzmina who felt like the winner after she undercut Tora Berger's time (both one miss). Darya Domracheva (BLR, Fischer skis and boots) came in fifth, youngster Laura Dahlmeier (GER, Fischer skis and boots) finished seventh and made her third top ten finish within four World Cup races. Eighth went to Teja Gregorin (SLO, Fischer) ahead of Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis and boots).
