World Championship title in nordic combined team sprint went to team France along with Lacroix/Lamy Chappuis. Silver secured the Austrians Willi Denifl (AUT) and Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) ahead of the German duo Tino Edelmann (GER) and Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer skis and boots).
Exciting fight for bronce medal
Frenchmen didn't talk too big and closed their starting disadvantage soon as announced. During the second half of the race noone was seriously able to hold a candle to the Frenchmen altough the Austrians stayed in contact until the last lap. So Denifl/Gruber secured silver medal while it became a tight fight behind them. German athletes Edelmann and Frenzel started in the leading position into the cross-country race but they were caught in the middle of the race by the Frenchmen, the Austrians and the Japanese. Shortly before the second-last exchange first Taihei Kato (JPN, Fischer skis and boots) fell in the stadium, just after the exchange Tino Edelmann fell, too, so both lost the contact to the leaders. In the final stretch Germany along with their last skier Eric Frenzel secured bronce medal ahead of the Japanese with Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis and boots) and team Norway consisting of Magnus Moan (NOR) and Mikko Kokslien (NOR, Fischer skis and boots).
