Catch-up race wasn't rewarded
A strong catch-up race of Akito Watabe wasn't paid off in second event in Kazhak Almaty. The Japanese started with one minute disadvantage into his cross-country race and shortened the gap against best jumper and future winner Christoph Bieler (AUT) second by second - after crossing the line just 4.4 seconds were between them. Third went to Czech Miroslav Dvorak who realized his first podium ever. Janis Morweiser (GER, Fischer skis and boots) edged out his team mate Björn Kircheisen (GER, Fischer skis and boots) at the last metres and finished fourth. Taihei Kato (JPN, Fischer skis and boots) came in seventh, Wolfgang Bösl (GER, Fischer skis and boots) ninth.
