OLENA PIDHRUSHNA SURPRISINGLY WINS SPRINT GOLD AT THE WORLDS

Olena Pidrushna (UKR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) surprisingly succeeded in World Championship sprint race in Nove Mesto. Silver and bronce went to Tora Berger (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) and Vita Semerenko (UKR, Fischer). In men's race Jakov Fak (SLO, Fischer) celebrated bronce medal.
Fak makes a podium
Jakov Fak secured his first medal in sprint race in this year's World Championships in Nove Mesto. The native-born Croate cleared all targets and was eleven seconds behind the new World Champion Emil Hegle Svendsen (NOR). Dmitry Malyshko (RUS, Fischer) can be satisfied in finishing fifth, his compatriot Anton Shipulin (RUS, Fischer skis and boots) came in seventh. Fredrik Lindström (SWE, Fischer skis and boots) showed a great skiing performance and was able to finish eighth despite his two misses followed by Evgeny Ustyugov (RUS, Fischer skis and boots) and Simon Eder (AUT, Fischer skis and boots).

Pidrushna storms to World Champs title
Olena Pidhrushna made her masterpiece in women's sprint race and celebrated a gold medal after her clear shooting. Behind the Ukrainian Tora Berger finished second followed by Vita Semerenko, another strong Ukrainian girl. While the Ukrainians both shot clear Berger recieved one penalty but due to fastest ski time she made another medal after mixed relay. Olga Vilukhina (RUS, Fischer) came in fifth ahead of Miriam Gössner (GER, Fischer) who missed two targets already in prone stage. Krystyna Palka (POL, Fischer skis and boots) finished seventh, ninth went to Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis and boots)followed by Veronika Vitkova (CZE, Fischer skis and boots).
