Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) celebrated victory at nordic combined World Cup in Krasnaya Polyana. He won ahead of Eric Frenzel (GER, Fischer skis and boots).
Gruber opens a gap
Bernhard Gruber persuaded at pre-olympic World Cup in Sochi/Krasnaya Polyana with a good jumping and great ski performance. The Austrian started in second position into cross-country race, 20 seconds back, and closed the gap along with some opponents soon. One kilometre before finish Gruber attacked and only his compatriot Denifl (AUT) was able to follow. Taihei Kato (JPN, Fischer skis and boots) tried to get in contact again but he was caught by Eric Frenzel soon who missed Grubers attack first. Frenzel finished second, 14 seconds back. Kato was shortly beaten and came in fourth. Mikko Kokslien (NOR, Fischer skis and boots) increased from 21 to six while his team mate  Magnus Krog (NOR, Fischer) finished eighth folllowed by Japanese Hideaki Nagai (JPN, Fischer skis and boots).
