UKRAINIAN GIRLS WIN WOMEN'S RELAY IN OBERHOF
Ukrainian biathlon girls Juliya Dzhyma (UKR, Fischer skis and boots), Valj Semerenko (UKR, Fischer), Olena Pidhrushna (UKR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) and Vita Semerenko (UKR, Fischer) secured victory in women's relay in Oberhof ahead of France and Germany.
Fog and wind create penalties
It was a competition which was influenced by typical Oberhof weather: Wind and fog - plus rain and deep snow. But they didn't let the rainy weather ruin their mood, they fighted for each target and second. Victory went to Ukraine with only five spare rounds. Team Germany finished third behind France. They had to do without Andrea Henkel (GER, Fischer skis and boots) who is sick. With Fischer biathletes Tina Bachmann (GER, Fischer skis and boots), Nadine Horchler (GER, Fischer) and Miriam Gössner (GER, Fischer) in leg one and two they were able to open a gap up to Gössner's standing shooting where she had to ski two penalty loops: "I couldn't see anything, everything was grey in the diopter!", Gössner stated but she wasn't disappointed with her race.
