Tarjei Boe (NOR, Fischer) secured victory at Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen (replaces Annecy-Le Grand Bornand). In sprint race he celebrated his first victory this season. Simon Schempp (GER, Fischer) finished fourth.
Tarjei Boe benefits of his starting group
Men's sprint race started already yesterday at team captain's meeting where the starting numbers were chosen. Because of the weather (heavy snowfall) the best biathletes chose different starting groups. Tarjei Boe started with number 55 in the middle of the race and benefitted of fading snowfall. Inspite of missing one target he secured victory ahead of his opponents. "I had a great race. So far I came in second twice and now I am very satisfied. Last year I secured two victories here in Hochfilzen and I like it here. When I woke up this morning and saw the snow I was happy", said Boe who took over the yellow bib.

Schempp confirms good shape
Inspite of missing one target Simon Schempp missed the podium only by a hair's breadth: "I benefitted of the weather conditions because I started in the middle of the race but my race was quite good. In the beginning skiing was difficult in the snow but after fading snow fall it became slippery. I am looking forward to pursuit because I always have good pursuit races", said Schempp. Simon Fourcade (FRA, Fischer skis and boots) came in sixth ahead of Jakov Fak (SLO, Fischer) and Alexey Volkov (RUS, Fischer skis and boots).
