At the end of the season 11l12 Dario Cologna (SUI, Fischer) and Marit Bjoergen (Fischer skis and boots) won the pursuit in Falun and took the overall victory in the Mini-Tour. At the same time both Fischer athletes received the big crystal globe for the victory in the Overall World Cup as well as the small crystal globe for the victory in the distance World Cup.
Start to finish victory
After his good results on the first three stages Cologna started as the leader into the men’s 15 kilometers pursuit race in free technique. During the whole competition he was running with a constantly high pace, so that his victory never came in danger. At the end he clearly enforced against Devon Kershaw (CAN, Fischer). "It was a good day for me. I kept my pace but it was not easy. I was skiing alone the whole time. I am very happy I could end the successful season with another victory", Cologna said after the race. Niklas Dyrhaug (NOR, Fischer) won the sprint for third place. He could refer his teammate Martin Johnsrud Sundby (NOR, Fischer skis and boots), Petr Sedov (RUS, Fischer skis and boots) and Alex Harvey (CAN, Fischer) to the next places. Also the places seven to twelve went to Fischer athletes.

Strong performance
On the women’s side Marit Bjoergen only had an advantage of six seconds to Justyna Kowalczyk (POL, Fischer skis and boots). First the Polish racer could catch Bjoergen, but lost contact again only a few kilometers further into the race. Then she broke down on the second lap and had to let go Heidi Weng (NOR), Charlotte Kalla (SWE, Fischer) and Therese Johaug (NOR, Fischer), who took second to fourth place. So Kowalczyk only came in fifth. Bjoergen celebrated a safely victory, which also secured her the overall World Cup title. "I am really happy to win here in Falun today. It was a great race and I was feeling good. I could enjoy last kilometers of the race. I had excellent skis and I have to thank the service team because they again did a great job", Bjoergen told journalists at the press conference.
