Daiki Ito (JPN, Fischer) secured victory in ski jumping World Cup in Trondheim. The Japanese succeeded ahead of Richard Freitag (GER, Fischer) and Simon Ammann (SUI, Fischer).
Ito gets ahead of Freitag
Daiki Ito celebrated victory after a 141 metres jump and a new hill record. After one round the Japanese was only in second position but in the final he set the new hill record and got ahead of Richard Freitag. The German was just able to jump 133 metres in the final round after he upgraded the hill record up to 140,5 metres in the first round. Third went to Simon Ammann followed by the World Cup leader Anders Bardal (NOR, Fischer) who extended his Overall lead against today's eight placed Andreas Kofler (AUT, Fischer). Roman Koudelka (CZE, Fischer) finished fifth ahead of Kamil Stoch (POL, Fischer) and Thomas Morgenstern (AUT, Fischer). Severin Freund (GER, Fischer), who was in third position after the first round, came in ninth after a fall.
