Justyna Kowalczyk (POL, Fischer skis and boots) secured another World Cup victory in Moscow sprint race and is now the leader in Overall World Cup ranking. Natalia Korosteleva (RUS, Fischer) and Anastasia Dotsenko (RUS, Fischer) completed the pure Fischer podium. Anders Gloeersen (NOR, Fischer) and Devon Kershaw (CAN, Fischer) likewise made the podium.
Kowalczyk wins and takes Overall lead
Justyna Kowalczyk is the winner of city-sprint race in
Moscow. The Polish secured victory at -16°C against the Russian local heroes.
"It was a very tough race. I didn't expect this success but I am happy to
be in the Overall World Cup lead now. The weather conditions in Rybinsk are not
so good but I hope to have good results there, too", said Kowalczyk. She won in the final stretch ahead of Natalia
Korosteleva. Kikkan Randall (USA, Fischer) missed the final shortly and
Gloeersen and Kershaw made a podium
Anders Gloeersen and Devon Kershaw missed the victory
around Luzhniki-stadium shortly and came in second and third. Kershaw dominated
the whole sprint day until the final stretch. Matias Strandvall (FIN, Fischer) finished eighth followed by his brand mates Alex
Harvey (CAN, Fischer), Eirik Brandsdal (NOR, Fischer) and Josef Wenzl (GER,
