As in the individual sprint the Swedish girls were unbeatable again. But team USA with Kikkan Randall (USA, Fischer) and Canada with Perianne Jones (CAN, Fischer and Chandra Crawford (CAN, Fischer skis and boots) showed a gread performance and fighted for second place. In the final stretch Randall secured the second place for her team although the Americans lost the contact to the leading group after Jessica Diggins tumbled at the exchange earlier in the race and Randall had to close the gap. "In the third exchange Jessica fell but I was not nervous, I know all can happened in team sprint - we had some bad luck in other team sprints before", said Randall.

Favorites won men's race
In men's team sprint the favorites from Russia Alexey Petukhov and Nikolai Morilov celebrated victory. Before the last exchage Petukhov tried to attack but his opponents were able to follow. In the final stretch his team mate Morilov secured victory ahead of Sweden with Fischer-skier Calle Halfvarsson (SWE, Fischer) and team Italy David Hofer (ITA, Fischer skis, boots and poles) and Fulvio Scola (ITA, Fischer skis and boots). "It was a fantastic race. I was never on the podium in an italian city before. It is not always easy to prepare a good course in a city but the team of Milan did a good job and support us with good conditions", said Hofer.
