Historical triumph for Italy
After an exciting competition round from ski jump in Chaux Neuve the athletes started in 10k crss-country skiing very close together. Soon a large leading group was together until the fast Italian Alessandro Pittin attacked in the last lap. Nobody could catch up with him and the Italian celebrated a historical victory - not only his first World Cup victory but also the first Italian victory ever in Nordic Combined. The young German Fabian Riessle sprinted to his first podium in his young carreer.
