Historical triumph for Italy
After an exciting competition round from ski jump in Chaux Neuve the athletes started in 10k crss-country skiing very close together. Soon a large leading group was together until the fast Italian Alessandro Pittin attacked in the last lap. Nobody could catch up with him and the Italian celebrated a historical victory - not only his first World Cup victory but also the first Italian victory

Lukas Runggaldier (ITA, Fischer) had a cause for joy, too. He finished fourth ahead of Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis and boots). Jan Schmid (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) came in seventh. Johannes Rydzek (GER, Fischer skis and boots) finished ninth ahead of Mikko Kokslien (NOR, Fischer skis and boots).
