Kaisa Mäkäräinen (FIN, Fischer skis and boots) has two reasons to celebrate: It's her 29th birthday and she secured victory in Individual competition at biathlon World Cup in Nove Mesto. Helena Ekholm (SWE, Fischer skis and boots) and Magdalena Neuner (GER, Fischer skis and boots) completed the pure podium on the whole Fischer package.
Fourth victory and 29th birthday
It was only the fourth World Cup victory for Kaisa Mäkäräinen who had already a lot of podium finishes especially in the last winter. The Overall World Cup winner missed two targets and was nevertheless 22 seconds faster than Helena Ekholm who picked up only one penalty. "It was a hard race because you already have to work after the shooting range for more than one kilometre. Then there is the first downhill and you can relax a bit. The wet snow makes it difficult, too. It is a nice birthday present. I didn't know how my shape is until the finish and I am happy to have a day of rest tomorrow", said Mäkäräinen.

After her great races in Oberhof Magdalena Neuner made a podium again and she was satisfied: "It's a selective course and that benefits me. I had a good feeling in skiing but and also the shooting worked quite well", said Neuner.

Glazyrina made a top ten
After winning in Oestersund Darya Domracheva (BLR, Fischer Ski und Schuhe) finished fifth ahead of Ekaterina Glazyrina (RUS, Fischer) who just came from IBU-Cup and national races in Russia before this race. Tora Berger (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) came in seventh.
