Victory at La Sgambeda: an interview with Anders Aukland

Skijumping-legend Andreas Goldberger (AUT) in interview
During his career Andreas Goldberger notched up three overall World Cup victories and won a World Championship. Looking back, the man from Upper Austria rates ski flying at Kulm emotionally as the very summit. Ski jumping has always been one of his strong points. In 2000 he set a new record of 225 metres in Planica. Goldberger is still in the thick of ski jumping today, as a co-commentator with the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation and as test jumper with a helmet-mounted camera. “Jumping today is pure pleasure for me,” the man from Innviertel admits.

Cross country legend Bjørn Dæhli (NOR) in interview
With eight gold and four silver medals Bjørn Dæhlie counts as one of the most successful cross-country skiers in the history of the Olympic Games. On top of this, the Norwegian collected nine World Championship golds and six wins in the overall World Cup in the 1990s. Dæhlie had and still has close links to Fischer: “I was always welcome and could always talk to everyone on the staff – from the very top to way down. Fischer was really part of my success.”
