Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis and boots) easily was able to claim his second World Cup victory ever. The Japanese won in Klingenthal while Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) finished third.
Winning start for the Japanese
After a good jump Akito Watabe started first six seconds ahead of the others and opened the gap in skiing more and more. Although Watabe hadn't to ski as fast as possible during the last kilometres he celebrated victory with a 30 seconds lead. Bernhard Gruber lost fight for second spot and came in third. Havard Klemetsen (NOR, Fischer) finished fifth, 1:08 minutes back. His team mates Mikko Kokslien (NOR, Fischer skis and boots) and Jan Schmid (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) finished in sixth and seventh spot, 90 seconds back. Fabian Riessle (GER, Fischer skis and boots) showed a good race and came in eighth. Tenth went to Thomas Kjelbotn (NOR, Fischer) who just joined Norwegian team after two team mates became sick.
